PocketPCFreeware : eMbedded Visual Basic Runtime Pocket PC 2003

This executable is not strictly speaking a program, but rather a collection of libraries required to run any program written in Visual Basic if you have a machine running Windows Mobile 2003 for the Pocket PC. You often get it with installation programs.

If you have a first generation Pocket PC or Pocket PC 2002, you have no need for these runtimes and shouldn't install them as you have another version in ROM. They aren't compatible with your machine.

download the file from this site http://msdn.microsoft.com/mobility/windowsmobile/downloads/evb.aspx sync your PDA with your pc/laptop and copy the file across to the PDA, run this CAD file from your PDA and it'll self install.

eMbedded Visual Basic (eVB) is special and obsolete sort of Visual Basic dedicated for Mobile devices prior to Compact Framework. It as well as development environment were freeware! It is not supported anymore by Microsoft and MS strongly recommends transfer eVB applications on .NET platform (CF). This is runtime for application writen in this special sort of Visual Basic. If you have eVB apps you need it (I'm one of them).

Hi all, I downloaded the Embedded Visial basic runtime software (msvbppc.armv4.cab) from Microsoft, but have no idea how to install it. There is no EXE file. So far I have tired 2 methods. 1. Copy the unzipped files to the Windows\System folder on the device. That does not work 2. Copy the CAB file to the device. But I don't know how to unzip or run it. Any help appreciated. This is why people hate Microsoft. Download the msvbppc.armv4.cab from http://msdn.microsoft.com/mobility/windowsmobile/downloads/evb.aspx , BUT DO NOT DOUBLE CLICK IT (i.e explode it). Sync you pocket PC with the desktop. Click "options" Scroll down to "files", highlight "files" and select "settings". Select "add". Select the location where you have stored the msvbppc.armv4.cab file. Hit "OK" once you ahve selected that file. This will sync the msvbppc.armv4.cab file to the pocket PC. NOW on the pocket PC click on the msvbppc.armv4.cab file. This will explode the file and you should be able to use your applications. Hope this helps.
