Money goes Away is a program that facilitates handling your current expenses. For every new transaction you make, you record basic data: amount, date, description, method of payment and possibly a note. The program does nothing except make the task of data entry easy, in a very pleasant interface enlivened by nice-looking icons. Thus it doesn’t perform any calculations. Of interest are the different possible ways to view the data: you can filter your entries by date, description or method of payment.
Its principal interest thus lies in its ability to export (in CSV format) the data you enter, for subsequent use in Excel, for example. Put another way, Money goes Away is a notepad you can always keep with you that lets you enter your expenses as you incur them.
A program that is simple, limited but effective.
