Voyager is a file explorer for our Pocket PC's. It has most of the functions we have a right to expect from this sort of program and which, need I say, the Explorer furnished with the standard version does not.
Files are shown in a single window, with more or fewer details, as one likes. There are quite a few context menus, but you can't drag 'n drop anything. The main problem is with the latency time when the program is launched. Watching the hourglass as the long seconds pass is irritating, and the choice of the .NET Compact Framework is doubtless not unrelated. (The .NET CF framework that you'll have to install if you're running Pocket PC 2002.) The program can work in tandem with CCrryyppttoo, a file encryption program developed by the same author.
In short, good work, but more so from the point of view of the developer, who must have enjoyed himself, than from that of the end user, who will prefer other, more complete or faster tools.

After reading the Help file, this has become my file manager of choice. It can be configured for double-click selection, multiple file selection, a Favorites folder, showing hidden files, an attribute display column and more; none of which was obvious to me the first time I tried it. It shows file extensions and integrates CCrryyppttoo (same author) encryption.

Version 3.0 Preview 1 is available.
|
A new preview (3.0 PreviewB) is available at http://www.hfrmobile.com/app_Voyager_T1/index.htm
Starting Voyager is much faster on WM2003 then on a PPC2002 device ;-)
|
I am again ;-) Already using v3.0! Works fine now on WM2003 too. The screen-shot here seems to be an old one.
|
Got a WM2005 device and there where icon problems with Voyager 3.0!
But these seems to be fixed with Version 3.1!
|
v3.1 was released long time ago February, 2010 ...
