Super-light, modest and effective, GS Battery Monitor is a little utility that will reside on the upper bar in the form of a notification icon. Click once and a pop-up appears: percentage of battery use, and time elapsed since the counter was last reset to zero.
This lets you free up a little space on a Today page crammed with plug-ins ... but will end up further encumbering the notification bar, itself also much in demand!
Intended only for Windows Mobile 2003.
Note: Watch out for software like Wisbar, Icbar or Magic Button. These will certainly cover up GS Battery Monitor's icon.

If all you ever need is a tiny battery monitor for your PPC, this is it. The plugin is small and simple. Once I installed it on my iPaq 2210, a tiny battery meter appeared at the top of my today screen (similar to the old Palm OS hackmaster battery meter). This is a nice feature but it doesn't display the percentage of battery life remaining ON the today screen. Instead, I have to tap on the battery to open a dialog window (as seen in picture) that displays the % remaining and the elapsed time. This program is simple and effective but a few more options and features could have made it even better.

The icon bars show the amount of remaining battery charge. It is great as it is visible all the time from any window.

i have been running this program for the last few weeks and i works great. the look and feel blends perfectly with the existing notification icons.

On WM5 HTC Wizard: Permanently replaces 'Calendar' softkey with 'Notification' softkey. Very annoying and displays same info that you get if you tap the battery icon in top bar. No Batt % display.

To Alpha4: The description clearly states "Intended only for Windows Mobile 2003." You're not supposed to use this in Windows Mobile 5. It wasn't designed for 5, and it would be pointless to use it anyway since 5 already has a battery icon -- 2003 does not; that's the point.
|
@anthingbutmine: point taken but some WM5 devices with a battery icon does not show battery % when tapped. Treo 700w is one of those. WM5 users often luck out with apps designed for WM2003 but not this time.
