Originally designed for users of SPB Software House's Pocket Plus 2 (shareware), SPB Extended Theme Generator is a PC utility that extends on Microsoft's Theme Generator v2 (also free). It adds the ability to create themes with a Today page plug-in and a battery state indicator in the personal task bar. The program comes with about ten examples, but it is possible to create new ones. But this add-on also provides the interesting posibility of creating themes compatible with Pocket PC VGA screens such as the Loox 720, iPAQ 4700 and the Toshiba E800. To create a VGA theme, you must create a 480x640 image (called "stwater.gif") for the Start menu, another 640x588 image (called "tdywater.gif") for the welcome page and place them in the same folder (a manual is available online). The other functions are the same as those offered by Theme Generator v2. When a theme is created, the SPB Extended Theme Generator window has been added to the last step of the program database. At the time when Pocket PC VGA is starting to appear with numerous manufacturers, this is a program that will please artists who like its simplcity, even if you don't own Pocket Plus 2.
