Dungeon Master - v1.0 Categorie: Games - Puzzle
Screen Shot
Dungeon Master is the Pocket PC port of a great success of the late 1980’s on the Atari. If you knew that great time, you can’t forget about this role-playing game: the first one in 3D where you moved around with the mouse! This gives you a chance to step back in time, especially since the Atari diskettes are probably unreadable, but there’s a chance you may be disappointed by the graphics.

For this review, I won’t go into a detailed description of the game; I refer you to this excellent site. Be aware that it’s quite a rich game and you can spend hours playing it. The port is excellent, and the Pocket PC platform is perfectly suited to that era’s graphics and requirements. It doesn’t take up a lot of RAM, which makes sense given the time when it came out. No bugs, nothing hangs, it all works perfectly. But no doubt it’s a program meant for the most nostalgic or the most curious amongst us.

Note: if you like it, there’s a sequel, Chaos Strikes Back.

7/10? This game is one of the best RPGs ever made. Almost everything you see in this game is in newer games in one form or another. This game is still played after 20 years in existence, and it never lost its appeal. The pocket PC conversion is perfect, there is nothing I would improve. Paul Stevens gave us a classic. Yes, the graphics are "outdated", but this doesn't matter. It's the gameplay and the puzzles that make this game outstanding in every respect. If it would cost $30 I would rate it 8/10, but since it is free I give it a straight 10/10. Freeware doesn't get better then this.
BTW: Do a google search on the game, and you will find great infos, user forums etc.

Paul, now let's convert "Sundog - Frozen legancy"
