As you can guess from the name, PocketCHAT is a program to use IRC channels from your Pocket PC. It is written in Visual Basic, and really surprises with the number of features, which allow to seriously use it in real IRC channels, like our favorite #PocketPC.fr on irc.phm.lu:6667. As screen space is limited, you have to know some basic commands, because there are only very few icons to provide extra functionality. It also limits the size of the messages window, which can make it hard to follow the discussion in a very busy chatroom. Unfortunatly the input panel covers the list with open channels. In some older versions, the USER command had a bug, so after the error USER: Not enough parameters, you have to type '/user 1 2 3 4'. I let the information here in case you didn't upgrade yet.

Amazing! I'm actually sitting on the Quakenet 3dsmax channel now talking....
Easy to use interface too, if you're looking for IRC on your PDA then surely you must know some basic commands which you might need to get it all working how you want. When you start the program you will be presented with ascreen asking for the server, password, port, nickname and the basic Ident Stuff that IRC asks for. Otherthan that, this is one pr0 program. THank you! I can now sit at college on IRC!
