QMAIL - v3.0.8 Categorie: Network Utilities
Screen Shot
QMAIL is a communications program which deserves to be more well known: it supports POP3, IMAP4, NNTP & RSS protocols.
Installation simply involves copying the files to the Pocket PC.

The mail client pleasantly surprised me: besides IMAP4 support, it supports SSL/TLS authenication (which makes it compatible with GMail, but this requires a seperate download), filters and all the configuration options that you could imagine. HTML support is still not working for the Pocket PC. Neither is the ability to compose scripts.

To read a RSS feed, you only need to create an account and choose RSS in the "Class" menu. When you return to the main screen you choose the account that you just created, tap and hold to bring up "Create" and voila, after entering the name of the feed, you only have to give the URL. The interface is not bad: you click on the title to see the contents, providing quick access.

It should be said here that the author's website would help you much since it is all in Japanese and there is no configuration guidelines.

An app that appears to be well-features (maybe too much) and so we should spend some time trying it out. Read this tutorial if you are interested in this feeware.

This is a great email client. I would give a 9/10 at the minimum since it is easily as good as npopw (which I had been using up until today when I downloaded this). IMHO, this is actually better since it also supports SSL/TLS authentication so can work with gmail (which npopw cannot) plus it has a ton of configurable options. It even has address completion as you type!

The only problem I have found is that the message editor doesn't work well with the tengo keyboard (tengo.net). Tengo works fine in all the data fields, but for some reason, in the text editor, as tengo changes around the text you're typing, qmail doesn't replace the characters, but instead adds them to the message resulting in garbled text. If this one thing could be fixed, this software would be perfect.

chris_khho (05-31-2005) - v2.9.13
Any guide on how to get this software work?

I went to their website but they are all in Japanese..........

monkeyrific (05-31-2005) - v2.9.13
Click on the "download" link instead of the "web site" one. It makes it much more understandable! Then download the appropriate zip file in the first section and one from the openssl section if you want ssl/tls support. Then unzip both into the same directory and copy the directory over to your ppc.

Torgamm (05-31-2005) - v2.9.13
Note that it is not only a mail client (POP3 and IMAP4) but also a newsreader (NNTP) and an RSS aggregator.

hezahonker (06-01-2005) - v2.9.14
This is an absolutely top notch app. Can't believe it is free. ***** Works like a dream. Configuration limitless. Reminds me a lot of Outlook. Various customized rules and options make this the best email, news and rss client out there.

dogshu (06-01-2005) - v2.9.14
OK, this program looks pretty cool.... but I can't figure out how to use it. I went to Tool->Accounts to add my Giganews account (it supports NNTP authentication, that's good). Now what? There doesn't seem to be an option to download a list of groups or download headers from a newsgroup. How do I browse newsgroups with this thing?

welovejesus (06-02-2005) - v2.9.14
The IMAP4 works great, even though it took quite a while to figure out without a manual. Has anyone had success getting SMTP to work (with IMAP4)? When I attempt to send, I get the message "Error occured while sending."
Thanks in advance for the help!

welovejesus (06-02-2005) - v2.9.14
Here is the solution (that works for me). Adjust the properties of each IMAP4 folders to correspond with the folder function. When one of the folders had the properties of "outbox" the error message, "Error occured while sending," did not come back, and the message was sent successfully.
Now if someone could explain how the RSS and NNTP works with QMail...

smallfry (06-02-2005) - v2.9.14
can not get this to install. unzipped Windows Mobile 2003 SE version, copied exe and all dll files to my built in storage on my axim x50v. after copying over... execute the exe. it asks to create an email folder in my storage... then thats it. nothing else happens. then machine locks up and i have to reset it. any ideas?

RD100 (06-02-2005) - v2.9.14
It seems like a great program, but it has no instructions. It would be very helpful if someone would be kind enough to post the type of data required in each of the setup boxes (ie. give samples).

welovejesus (06-03-2005) - v2.9.14
smallfry,
Sometimes the program has a short delay or needs to be restarted when creating the E-mail folders. Even so after the restart/reset Qmail should work. The next step is to set up an account under Tools->Accounts. When I set up IMAP4 I first filled in the initial one page dialog, which after pressing OK, immediately takes me to a 7-tab dialog. Although the 7-tab dialog is not intuitive, it just asks for basic information. Out of the 7 tabs, the General, User, and IMAP4 (or POP3) are the only three tabs that should be needed.
My only complaint is that the file attachment works painfully slow when users have hundreds of files on their RAM, Built-in Storage, and SD/CF cards. If this issue was resolved with a different file attachment solution, I would switch from ProfiMail/WebIS Mail for good.

smallfry (06-03-2005) - v2.9.14
welovejesus,

after i copy all the dll files and exe to my built in storage and then execute the exe.it asks to create a location for account and folders, etc. then the install animation just spins, indefinitely. i have waited for up to 5 minutes, then i do the reset.

one question i have is... after installing, where do you launch the app from? do you just hit the q3u.exe file again, each time you want to start the program... or does it install another start menu, or something, because after reset, i don't see anywhere to actuate the app. also, all the folders that the installer creates, are empty. should there be something in them?

any info would be much appreciated.

smallfry (06-03-2005) - v2.9.14
oh by the way. i have tried both:
q3u-ppc2003-armv4-ja-2_9_14_2079-20050602.zip
and
q3u-ppc2003se-armv4-ja-2_9_14.zip

welovejesus (06-03-2005) - v2.9.14
smallfry,
I am not sure why your system hangs for up to 5 minutes. Try checking the profiles folder as well as the mail and news folder which is placed inside the templates folder. There should be files there. Most of the folders are blank because there has not been an account set up yet as well as the mail has not been downloaded/synchronized with QMail yet. Once an account is created, connected with the mail server, and new mail is downloaded, the folders should fill up.
Shortcuts for the Start Menu must be manually created (such as copy then paste as short cut in the Windows\Start Menu folder.
In summary try creating an account first as well create your own shortcut. QMail is not that intuitive and took me a while to learn. It is sometimes difficult to communicate configuration settings without pictures on this forum.

RD100 (06-03-2005) - v2.9.14
On the Accounts > Detail tab, I am trying to set up an account for GMAIL. It requires, SSL, but the SSL button in QMAIL is greyed out, and can't be selected. I was able to enter the ports (I=995, O=465), but can't select SSL. Does anyone else have this issue ? I am using the PPC2002 version of QMAIL.

RD100 (06-03-2005) - v2.9.14
I found out that the reason I couldn't select SSL is because I needed to download the SSL files from the developers website. Also saw that there are two conversations about QMAIL active at Brighthand.com and Aximsite.com

http://discussion.brighthand.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=38956
http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showthread.php?t=85743

I still haven't got GMAIL to work yet. Now I receive a message saying "Error occured while greeting. Disconnected by the peer".

welovejesus (06-05-2005) - v2.9.14
RD100,
Thank you for the excellent links! On one of the forums links you gave provided the following link to a part Eastern European part English FAQ. http://www.azol.ru/texts/QMail3_eng_FAQ.htm

I cannot send mail (via SMTP of course) with IMAP4 accounts. When i click on "Send NOW" it just places my message in remote OUTBOX folder but it's no send.

SMTP with POP3 account works great.

How to fix it ?

Best regards

huangchenmin (08-14-2005) - v2.9.16
AWESOME! It work well and fast alone with Gmail on iPAQ3950.

1.download the app from following in order to pass certification confirm.
http://www.pocketinformant.com/Forums/inde...?showtopic=6457
2.download "OPENSSL" from following to active ssl option that gmail required.

huangchenmin (08-18-2005) - v2.9.16
Are you in trouble of failing to initial SSL ?

add certificate to root, that is all !

Good Luck !

RD100 (08-21-2005) - v2.9.16
Huangchenmin, I get a "Failed to initialize SSL message".
How do you add a certificate to the root ? I don't know what a certificate is, or what the root is. Could you please explain what exactly needs to be done? Thank you.

huangchenmin (08-24-2005) - v2.9.16
RD100,I read your message on other website, couldn't touch you without youe email !
I am glad you read my message.
Certificate is kind of ticket or permission to the system if the system should execute the apps. You make SSL checked but failing to initial it because the ppc os don't determine the certificate.
Goes to http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;322956
Read the detalings word by word.
Good Luck.Let me know if you have any problen.

RD100 (08-26-2005) - v2.9.16
Thanks huangchenmin !!! Using the above microsoft.com website program, I successfully created root certificates on my PPC. There were 110 certificates to choose from, so I picked around 4 which seemed like they might work. But no luck. I still get the same SSL error message, even with the root certificates.

Someone else at Brighthand had this advice: http://discussion.brighthand.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=776924#post776924

It referenced this website: http://www.voy.com/24979/9122.html

I tried their solution, but I still get the same SSL error. Nothing seems to work for me. :(

RD100 (08-26-2005) - v2.9.16
UPDATE !!! :) Using the Microsoft AddRootCert.exe program from huangchenmin's website above, I added all the root certificates that begin with "Thawte", and I no longer get the SSL error !!! :) I successfully used QMail to send a message, and it worked !!! I still haven't got it to receive email yet from my GMail account yet, but I feel I'm getting closer. :)

huangchenmin (08-26-2005) - v2.9.16
dear RD100 ,the one and only certificate you have to add to root is "Thawte server CA".
there must be a little trouble with your smtp configeration, such as port, spelling error of smtp... Any way check everything over and over or tell me that error message!
keep going on !

RD100 (08-26-2005) - v2.9.16
Thanks again huangchenmin. Even though I didn't change anything in QMail since yesterday, today I am able to both send and receive email in my GMail account. So QMail now works fine for me !!! Thanks for all of your help !!! :)

olzzen (08-27-2005) - v2.9.16
Hi. I need help setting up my Gmail. The SSL is working, but I can't send mails. I get an SMTP error message. The message says the following: "Error occured while RCPT command. Recive an error response".

Can anybody help me plz? Thanks!

akneal (09-06-2005) - v2.9.16
Got it working with gmail on the first shot. WM2003SE latest patch from HP has the Thawte certificate already in the root cert store. Great app.

mmubashar (10-02-2005) - v2.9.16
Guys, I have a HP iPAQ h5450 running the Windows Mobile 2002. I have downloaded the QMAIL and tried my very hard to get gmail working on this program but it doesnt work at all. I read through all the forums here and tried every solution but I cant get it done. The SSL certificates are bothering me. I have already downloaded the SSL plugin from the QMAIL website and the SSL and the STARTTLS is no longer greyed. I m having problems uploading the certificates to my iPAQ. Anyone please guide me step by step to setting up this gmail. I would really appreciate your help. Please guide me.

p/s: I have the WLAN connection running and am able to access the internet on my iPAQ. I am using the QMAIL v2.9.17

Thanks in advance

RD100 (10-04-2005) - v2.9.16
mmubashar - huangchenmin provides the answer to your certificate questions above. See comments from 8-24-2005 forward. Also go to the forum threads I mentioned in my previous comments. They give all details necessary for setting up GMail.

mmubashar (10-04-2005) - v2.9.16
RD100, i have tried the solutions but the problem is, I cant get the certificates into my iPAQ h5450. It gives an error saying its an invalid certificate. Is there anyway we can add the certificates manually? I have followed all of thesteps including the links to forums etc but the certificate just cant be loaded into the Pocket PC. What should I do? Please help probably with an alternative or something

mmubashar (10-04-2005) - v2.9.16
Oh yes, btw, following the forum, I have gotten the SSL links in white now. The only problem now is to get the certificate into the device. It says the certificate im providing is an invalid certificate. Thanks so much for your concern RD100. Im looking forward to your reply.

mmubashar (10-04-2005) - v2.9.16
Dear RD100, this is the exact error message which i get: "Error 0 Opening File"

RD100 (10-04-2005) - v2.9.16
mmubashar - When you downloaded the AddRootCert.exe program from Microsoft (see huangchenmin's link above), and decompress it (unzip), you will see it contains a ReadMe.txt file. Follow the instructions in this ReadMe file. Per huangchenmin, the only certificate you need to add is "Thawte server CA".

mmubashar (10-05-2005) - v2.9.16
RD100 - I have followed the steps in the ReadMe file. I recieve this error when I try to open the certificates: "Error 0 Opening File" and yes, I have exported ONLY the thawte certificates. I am using the WinXP and when I try to export the certificates, there is no option to select the .cer format. I make it in .txt and ehn done, i just change the extension to .cer
Im afraid this might be the flaw. RD100, can you send me the .cer file which u uploaded to your pocket pc? It might just work then. Can you send it to me please?

RD100 (10-05-2005) - v2.9.16
mmubashar - see step 5 in the ReadMe.txt:

(5) Use DER encoded binary X.509(*.CER) because it is the only encoding that the Pocket PC 2002 Crypto API supports.

That is how you create a .cer format file. I use WinXp too, so I know it should work. You need to export as DER X.509, and it will be named *.cer when created. Then copy the ThawteServerCA.cer and AddRootCert.exe files to your PPC (maybe put them in your temp folder?), and tap on AddRootCert.exe to run it(possibly using GSFinder or File Explorer), and then point it to the ThawteServerCA.cer file on your PPC. That will add the ThatwteServerCA.cer root to your PPC.

mmubashar (10-06-2005) - v2.9.16
RD100 Thanks pal! I finally managed to get the certificate installed on my device. Once I get my gamil on work (which I will test at night from my home) I will let you know. Im near to success and thanks to RD100 :)

mmubashar (10-08-2005) - v2.9.16
RD100, I managed to recieve emails from my gmail account but I couldnt send any. What is the problem? I think there is something to do with the "LOCAL HOST" under the SMTP tab. What am I supposed to type in there?

RD100 (10-08-2005) - v2.9.16
mmubashar - the Local Host in the SMTP tab is blank on mine, and I am able to send and receive e-mail. Please view the Forum Threads at Brighthand and Aximsite, which I posted above. They give all details for setting up Gmail, since it was a heavily discussed topic. When I first got GMail working in QMail, only the SEND worked for me. The next day the RECEIVE worked, even though I didn't change anything. A Soft Reset is also worth trying.

RD100 (10-08-2005) - v2.9.16
mmubashar - just for reference, my QMail Detail Tab has: Incoming Mail Port 995, SSL checked, Outgoing Mail Port 465, SSL Checked. General Tab: Incoming pop.gmail.com, Outgoing smtp.gmail.com User Information - Name: any name, Address: yourname@gmail.com User tab: yourname@gmail.com and password on both incoming and outgoing. Authenticate checked. Other Qmail tabs are left at their defaults.

welovejesus (10-09-2005) - v2.9.16
The latest nightly build 2.9.17.2462 handles HTML E-mail attractively. QMail runs starts much more quickly than WebIS Mail. QMail runs quickly even when mail storage is on Built-in Storage or a SD/CF Card unlike WebIS Mail or ProfiMail which run painfully slow in like conditions. In order to get IMAP to work I filled out the General, User, Dtail, and IMAP4 tabs in the account properties. When QMail lists all the IMAP folders, change the Box Type selection dialog in the properties of the folders to match the function of the folder. For example Inbox.Drafts should be selected as Draftbox in the Box Type selection dialog in the folder properties. The other folders Inbox.Sent and Inbox.Trash should be designated as Sentbox and Trashbox respectively. In order to send mail, create a Remote Folder named Outbox. Then change the Inbox.Outbox folder properties dialog in Box Type to Outbox. Now sending will work. Hope this helps!

welovejesus (10-09-2005) - v2.9.16
Just wanted to offer a correction to the previous post. The Outbox folder should be a local folder which is then set to Outbox in the folder properties Box Type dialog. For a visual representation please go to http://desertrat.memebot.com/archives/00000003.htm RD100's link to Brighthand is the best source for configuation and help beyond the help given here. http://discussion.brighthand.com/showthread.php?&threadid=38956

mmubashar (10-10-2005) - v2.9.16
RD100 - i tried the ways already. I can recieve emails but when i try to send, i recieve the following error:
[GMAIL] SMTP error. (0x00050100)
Error occured while greeting.
Connection timed out.
i believe the outgoing email setting was supposed o be STARTTLS instead of SSL, but I tried both and the problem remains. I can recieve but cant send. Really strange. Any ideas?

RD100 (10-11-2005) - v2.9.16
mmubashar - confirm that smtp.gmail.com is spelled correctly. Confirm that Outgoing port is 465. Confirm that your GMAIL name and password are spelled correctly on outgoing. Confirm Authenticate checked. Beyond these, I have no other solutions. May want to join the Brighthand.com forum, and ask your questions in the forum thread I posted above. There are a lot more people at Brighthand who can help. Brighthand membership is free.

mmubashar (10-11-2005) - v2.9.16
RD100 - I have done about anything now. Is there any thing to do with my QMAIL version? What version are you using? I m having the QMAIL 2.9.17.2383
It recieves emails successfully but it never sends them. Im tired of this and just dont know whats wrong. I deleted my GMAIL settings and setup again but the same problem persists!

RD100 (10-11-2005) - v2.9.16
mmubashar - I have 2.9.16.221. I think you should try Brighthand. I am not a QMail expert, so maybe someone there has had more experience using QMail, and might be able to help you solve your problem. Good luck.

mmubashar (10-13-2005) - v2.9.16
RD100 - Would you mind to send me that version please? It may work we never know. I did try to ask at Brighthand but they said they have no idea too. Can u please send a copy of v2.9.16.221 to me? Please send it to my email mmubashar007@hotmail.com at least we can try. It might just work with this version.

welovejesus (10-26-2005) - v2.9.16
The latest version, 2.9.18, works with RSS 2.0 seamlessly.

RD100 (01-11-2006) - v2.9.19
huangchenmin, not sure how I can help? After using QMail myself for a few weeks, I just went back to using Pocket Outlook for email. I didn't have a lot of luck with QMail myself. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. So I eventually gave up. I don't have WiFi in my PDA, so I have to connect directly to my PC to send/receive email. And Pocket Outlook works fine for that purpose. The only thing I remember about the SSL issue, is that you need to download a special SSL program from the QMAIL website. Also you need to add the Thawte root certificate, which you instructed me about (see above).
Other than that, not sure how I can help?

huangchenmin (01-11-2006) - v2.9.19
RD100,Thank you a lot.I think i will make a same descision like you.Give up !
Anyway, thank you again and HAPPY NEW YEAR.I KNEW IT'S A LITTLE BIT LATE.

monkeyrific (01-11-2006) - v2.9.19
huangchenmin, I may have had the same problem as you. Namely, I had gmail working fine under qmail for half a year and then a few weeks ago, I started getting the dreaded "failed to initialize SSL" message. None of the suggestions here or elsewhere worked. Finally after a bit of debugging using qmail's logging feature, I was able to figure out that you need a different certificate than the Thawte certificate that everyone mentions. For gmail at least, you need to install the Equifax Secure Certificate Authority certificate (available at http://www.geotrust.com/resources/root_certificates/index.asp). If you are having problems with gmail, this might fix it. Otherwise, maybe the logging mode will help you out (in account properties under the "detail" tab). Anyway, it might be worth a quick try since qmail is so superior to the built-in inbox. :) Good luck!

huangchenmin (01-11-2006) - v2.9.19
monkeyrific, you are angel to me.Now the gmail work alone well with pop3 but smtp fail to initial.that is ok ,I already knew the way to fix it via log file.Thank you again.

Interesting program. I wander, is this the client version of the qmail server? (http://www.qmail.org/)

As I am filling the parameters for an imap+ssl account, I think the interface needs to be improved;

General -> Host Information -> Incoming/Outgoing: is this the imap and smtp server address?
User -> for goodness sake, allow me to copy and paste!
Detail -> OK
IMAP4 -> What are the "Root folder" and "Send CLOSE" for?
SMTP -> "Local Host"? Was't this the above one in General?
(then, why not asking for it, again, in IMAP4?)

Should I try it crossing fingers?

Bob

I love this program. I wish the square 240X240 screens were better supported. It would be good to be able to scroll to access options at the bottom of the screen.

Keep an eye on Werner "Menneisyys" Ruotsalainen's blog:
"Note that Qmail has no decent documentation. The only one available here is far from being full. I'm, however, working on a full tutorial of it and will soon publish it. A really quick introduction to configuring its NNTP reader can be found here. Note that it only discusses NNTP and is, therefore, doesn't give you a full picure of all the aspects of Qmail."

I installed the software with the ssl support. I also did register a certificate. I would like to connect via GPRS from a Vodafone compact. If i click on "go around" (i did configure the client to save the IMAP headers) a second windows shortly flickers up. But the client will not download mail. Do I have to setup a dialup connection? If yes, how should i have to do this? What connection has to be chosen (Vadafone Live! / Vodafone CSD etc.)?
Thanks for your help

hi all,
Hopefully someone can help me out. I have a xv6700 (ppc6700) running WM5 and I get the "Failed to initialize SSL message". I followed the install instructions to a T and still have the problem. I think my problem has to do with my mail folder being "LOCKED" by my desktop (I run Windows XP and I think when transferring files, it automatically locked the file by the administrator). Sometimes, when I try to access Qmail, it says "This mail folder is locked by "WM_HP_Admin", would you like to continue? If I press yes, Qmail opens but I still get the SSL problem. I also noticed that on my Qmail folder (saved on my SD card), there is a LOCK file, which I can't delete for some reason.
Any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

RD100 (03-25-2006) - v2.9.21
I was able to access my AOL email using QMAIL. See this post I created at Brighthand.com, which has the settings I used:

http://discussion.brighthand.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=787739#post787739

I am only able to get QMail to read mail from my AOL account. I still haven't figured out how to use QMail to send mail using my AOL account. If anyone knows how to do this, please let me know. QMail works fine with GMail for both sending and receiving email, so I only have this problem with AOL email.

I can send and receive email from gmail.com via ppc2002 wireless network.
The comments of RD100 and monkeyrific are crucial, but not enough I think.

How to set up Qmail for Gmail.com:

1. get addintional open-ssl libraries from link

2. put the two ssleay32.dll and libeay32.dll into your ppc Qmail directory, the the SSL button will be enabled.

3. download addrootcert.exe http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;322956

4. unzip addrootcert.exe in your pc directory, and execute UserCerts.msc

5. Export all Equifax(seems to be for gmail POP certificate) and Thawte(seems to be for gmail SMTP certificate) certificates in the UserCerts.msc menu clicking right mouse button in each certificate. (store the exported *.cer files in your pc directory)

6. Additionally, download Equifax certificates from http://www.geotrust.com/resources/root_certificates/index.asp

7. copy addrootcert.exe and all *.cer files to your ppc My Documents folder.

8. In your ppc execute addrootcert.exe and open each *.cer file. (tedious~)

9. reset your ppc

10. Finally you have to (re)issue a personal e-mail certificate in https://www.thawte.com/reissue/
entering your username@gmail.com for outlookexpress. (This seems to be necessary to get SMTP certificate)

I think, now you can send and receive e-mails from gmail.com

I wish you good-luck!
Qmail is a quite fantastic free e-mail program.

Q is a fabulous program which I've been using for a long time on my Audiovox XV6600. Configuring accounts is not possible however on square screens like the Treo 700w.

kuifware (09-04-2006) - v2.9.26
If you use an IMAP server with SSL, but the certificate is not signed by a known authority (like e.g. when running your own mail server), you can do the following in order to install the certificate on you PocketPC:

On your Windows PC, browse with Internet Explorer to https://hostname.of.your.imapserver:993/. It will now ask you whether you want to accept the certificate; in this diagog, you can also export/save the certificate. Export it to a .cer file (DER encoded). (An alternative is of course converting the secret .pem file on your mail server to a public .cer file, but then you'd need to figure out how to do that and you'd need root shell access to the mail server!)

Now copy the .cer file to you PocketPC using ActiveSync, or Windows Explorer (to 'My Mobile Device'). If you have WM2005, you can simply click on the file and it will try installing it. Otherwise you might need to install the AddRootCert.ece mentioned in one of the linked MS KB articles above.

Anyone who has success experience to receive SSL-IMAP email, please share how to config it. Thanks in advance.

I can use it to access POP3 email. But I got an error " Error occured when update the folders" when I competed the setting for my SSL-IMAP mail accout.

I installed the software on SD card.

Help, Please.

When I delete the email on my Qmail account and the mail is also marked as deleted, Once I select "clear deleted", some time, the email comes back again without being deleted. Anyone experienced the same problem? or I did something wrong.

Hi everyone!

Just to let you all know that the site is much more easier to read if you go to http://babelfish.altavista.com/ then enter the website address http://q3.snak.org/download/ and select 'Japanese to English' from the translation box.

Trust me you'll be amazed, though it will still look a bit Janglish (Japanese & English).

Hello, this program is very good but i have one problem, how to set that this program check for new emial automaticly in some time for example every 10min. Is it possible in this software ?

ianl (01-18-2007) - v2.9.29
I have only a POP3 email account, and QMail works extremely well with this. Attachments are properly catered for. As freeware, this is an excellent program.

I agree that HTML formatting is missing, but in my limited understanding this is also a WM5 problem.

gjdgjd (01-19-2007) - v2.9.29
(I will understand if this is classified as useless and deleted without warning!). I am a bit new to this. Once I have successfully collected e-mails into the inbox on the device with this programme (which I have) is there any way of simply transferring them (without change) to the Outlook inbox on my PC?

Pandaboy (03-12-2007) - v2.9.30
I have PPC 6700, WM5, I've tried every step mentioned here, but still can't get gmail to work properly.
I've read the readme.txt and followed step 5 as it is. However, everytime I tried to open a *.cer file, I still get "error 0 opening file"
I love this program a lot. I tried with my ISP email and it worked perfectly fine.

tmjenkins74 (04-25-2007) - v2.9.32
when I tried to run the executable file I got an error not a valid wim32 application? any ideas or was I supposed to change something?

sanjsrik (06-06-2007) - v3.0.0
I've used various versions of this program over a year or so, this is NOT Treo 700wx compatible, not for the screen any way. It doesn't show the entire set of menus on the bottom and it's difficult to maneuver around on a square screen. I love the program, but using it is VERY difficult on a square treo screen.

sanjsrik (08-31-2007) - v3.0.1
What is with the newest version? Why was it updated on 8/30/07? Please let us know why there's a new version? Is it finally square screen (treo 700wx) compatible?

CeeBee (09-04-2007) - v3.0.1
It seems the latest version hasn't been compiled for pre-WM5 OS's anymore; WM5 and up only.

razl (12-04-2007) - v3.0.1
Need help getting qmail3 running on my att 8525 running wm5. I got the packages loaded and started to set up my account. I need to connect into my work server. I set the incoming port to TLS security using port 993 (default). I set the incoming machine name and then entered my username and password. After it kerchunked awhile, I got a pop-up saying "error occured while updating folder". This isn't much to go on, but I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas. I can use The windows mobile email tool fine, but i'd rather try and get this one working. Any help appreciated.

mjt57 (02-28-2008) - v3.0.1
Is there any way of configuring the way the editor formats replies in Usenet posts? For example, change the text in the header when quoting a message:

For example, new replies have a line of text at the top saying something like this:

While discussing (subject name) (original poster) said...

I'd like to change this so it says:

(original poster) said...

Also, the date format cannot be altered. It has the year/mth/day format: eg 2008/02/28. Can it be changed to reflect the date settings in the regional settings of the PocketPC?

Finally, when I post a reply and use the keyboard emulator to tap in the text, the emulator covers where I am writing and I cannot scroll up or down the editor to show the line that is being edited.

Thanks.

Hi,

how can I download all e-mails to my pda? Qmail only allows me to see the e-mails when Im online.

thanks

yankeejeep (07-30-2008) - v3.0.4
It sounds like your sync filter is set to headers only. In the account properties, find the sync filter setting and select a different option to retrieve the message body rather than just the header. There are different options depending on which email protocol the particular account uses.
