qdCAS is a very powerful scientific calculator: it can determine or confirm the results of exercises that numerous school and college students are confronted with.
It is a Pocket PC port of GIAC/XCAS developed by Bernard Parisse, who has also authored systems for the HP48 & 49. Despite what the drab screenshot may suggest, it has a huge number of functions: polynomial resolution, derivatives and integrals, differential equations, limits, series, probability, etc.
Words which may bring back many good or bad memories ;-)
The interface is excellent as you can access the menus by a simple Tap&Hold in the data entry area. Expressions are from simple .txt files which it is very easy to cut-and-paste. The program is very well made and not too demanding when it comes to notation: you can enter 2x or y' and it will change it to 2*x and diff(y), a real time saver!
An excellent tool which requires the .NET Compact Framework. The source code is available with a GPL licence.
