PocketPCFreeware : Birthdays 1.2.10

Birthdays displays the birthdays of any Contacts which have the birthdate entered on the Today page.
Tapping on Birthdays opens the standard contacts management program.

I particularly liked how you could very precisely (and easily) configure how the dates appear.
You can also choose how many days before the date to have it appear and whether to show the age or not.

This Today plug-in installs via a CAB file and uninstalls using 'Remove Programs'.

The author is very responsive: a small problem with displaying appeared during testing and was corrected the next day. I haven't encountered any problems either with stability or errors in this new version.

In short, a very good freeware app, as good as a number of commercial program which manage and display birthdays.

Two remakrs that I mailed the author about 1.1.5: the plugin fails to redraw if you have tapped on it, and the font size is fixed and a bit too big (bigger than what my other plugins use). Otherwise, it's a very small plugin, both in memory and space on the screen.

It's a good plugin considering its small file size but for those with alot of plugins on their Today screen, this would be one more thing crowding the screen. It would be nice if this plugin automatically disappears from the screen when there are no upcoming birthdays.

The author has just released 1.1.6: - uses the standard font i.s.o. the larger font it was using before - vertical margin can be configured - bugfix in drawing routine I have now dropped TaskPlus for birthdays and use this one: takes less vertical space :) I still keep TaskPlus for the tasklist tho....

i find this among the best freeware i've gotten. Wish that it can connect to the specific contact on tapping the name at the today page.

the program is very useful. I like it.. except..All birthdays showing are 1 day off. e.g. my friend's birthday is Feb 8, but in the program it shows Feb 7. Is there a bug needed to be fixed?

It didn't work well at first when I downloaded it from this site. So I took the one from the author's website. It ran well since then. A great, usefull little program.
