Cubicle Chaos - v1.0 Categorie: Games - Classic
Screen Shot
Based on a game originally release for the PC and created by Rapture Technologies, Microsoft has produced an improved brick-smasher where you have to destroy the office cubicles with their employees. Graphically, it is clean and well done. Intensive use can produce horizontal lines at the bottom of the screen, so beware. The interest of the game is limited to beating a competitor or your own high score,s o it's a pity Microsoft has not created a table of worldwide High Scores.

Great game with good balance of powerups. The GUI is surprizingly well-done and the office theme works well for the genre. If you like breakout clones give this one a try

7/10

Odd. When I install this application, it installs the "Little Snazzy Drummer" application on my PPC. It didn't install Cubicle Chaos. The name of the self-extracting executable is "CubicleChaos.exe".

The game is stored on the PocketPC Freewares server, so it is possible they got the two mixed up. If you have trouble try to get it directly of Microsoft's site

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=E0A17AF8-B9FC-4E2F-A71E-C50726135CE7&displaylang=en

You have to get it from here because Rapturetech is charging $10 for it now.

No, same thing. The installer found on that page, even though it says it's the "Cubicle Chaos" application, tries to install the "Little Snazzy Drummer" application.

I downloaded the installer back in mid 2004. It is a winzip self-extractor and app. 2.08 MB in size. How does yours compare?

It's 2181584 bytes. The readme.txt file even says that it's Cubicle Chaos. When I install it, it's trying to install "Little Snazzy Drummer", the first time I did it, I let it complete, and I've tried the application (I noticed it before). It appears to be that application. Something screwy is happening here, but I have a feeling the explanation is somehow simple.

Is it digitally signed by Microsoft? Right click on the file > Properties > Digital Signatures to see. Also, is it a win-zip file? When you extract the file, take note where it extracts to and go there in file explorer. I think the default directory is
C:/Program Files/Microsoft Activesync/Pocket PC Cubicle Chaos
Then go to the "cubicle" directory and copy the cc_ARM file to you PPC.
Then go to your pda's file explorer and run the cab file. This *should* install it properly. If this doesn't work, I don't know what would. your file is the right size...
If you have another computer you can install the program on, try that, but if the cab doesn't work, this propably won't either. Good luck!

I figured it out. I think the installer for both "Little Snazzy Drummer" and "Cubicle Chaos" both had an executable named "setup.exe" in their self-installing executables, and apparently Winzip unpacked both of those files to the same location (I had tried to install LSD a while ago), and it didn't attempt to overwrite the LSD setup.exe with the CC one. Once I explicitly extracted the CC installer to a different place and executed that, it worked fine.

I really like this freeware program. Does anyone know where I can download the entire Microsoft Games Pack? Are other games from it on this site?
