With this software made in Japan you can show (or improve) your talent as an artist.
The user interface is really convenient, you can draw with different pen types or textures and there is even a zoom to view a part in more detail. The result of your work can be saved as BMP.
There is also a commercial version ($14)... So get out your pencil... or more your stylus!
Update : The new version is no longer called NF Pencil but Mobile Pencil, and a lot of fixes have been done.

Agreed with hezahonker, this is one nifty app for nothing. Available for PocketPC and H/PC platforms. Impressive effect makes it look like you're drawing on a real canvas. The UI is different, but mostly usable. The later version, Mobile Painting, has support for plug-ins and the UI gets more complicated and sometimes simply baffling for folks like me who are artistically-challenged :) Still, highly recommended choice freeware.

This program has an elegant, functional interface, which is a lot of fun to use. Note that the link to the English webpage will tell you that the site "is discontinued due to insufficient resource for supporting both Japanese and english versions." However the software itself is still available and completely usable in
English, and has excellent English documentation. The web pages are navagable with some guesswork (despite not being translatable by Google). Visit the author's new Japanese site at: http://nefastudio.net/cafe.cgi
Follow the links to SOFTWARE then SOFTWARE again. The Mobile Painting files are the second set on the page. Owners of most recent PPCs will want the FIRST item (Pocket PC 版) [2.22 2004.4.11]) and perhaps the English documentation (4th item to view, 5th to download as a zip)

As for Google translation, it IS translatable this way:
Copy & paste site content into Google Translate Text window, choose Japanese to English and click Translate.
This is not easy and the translation is not perfect, but it DOES WORK. Good luck!

A program for painters. Graphics of interface are very impresive. You can choose canvas texture, tens of colors, pen size, eraser, pen texture. I hope a future version save work in several format like: gif, jpg, etc. Functionality is a little strange. If you want to draw something quick I thing the less potencial pencilbox is preferable.
