PocketSpesa is the first software in our database in Italian. It is entirely intentional that no English translation exists: the authors want to punish Engish-speakers for the lack of software in Italian, and hope to get them angry by offering interesting freeware that they can’t use. Well, it’s nothing to write home about. It’s a simple program in Visual Basic that will let you manage your daily expenditures by using configurable lists of products. The program is quite simple to run and uses a CDB file. So you can modify the latter in Access on your PC, all the while keeping your data synchronized. That is this freeware’s major advantage!
Structuring the program this way lets you use the software for completely different purposes, whenever you need to keep product quantities, with dates and value, in a list and calculate the sum total.
As is often the case in Visual Basic, this application doesn’t run very quickly. The only problem posed by the language is the EXE file that presumably calls the VB file (the only way, as I recall, to get a nice icon in VB): it searches the folder \programmi\pocketspesa which, naturally, doesn’t exist.
