The source code of the original WISBar version is now freely available, so we will have multiple entries in our database, one for each derivate.
The best of all the new WIS Bars at the moment seems us the version which Marc from PelMar Inc. developed out of the original code. All features of the base version are kept, like switching between running tasks, closing instead of minimizing them, volume control and battery/memory status bars. Skins are supported, and leaves nothing for which you wouldn't be able to give it a different look. Some small bugs have been fixed and the compatibility with PocketPC2002 is very much improved, especially date and time and sound, whereas some notifications are still are not handled very well. The icons have been updated, so now you don't need any additonal bmp-files anymore, the PocketPC2002 look is already built-in. Even with PocketPC2000 you can choose to close or minimize a window depending on how long you tap on the close button.
The version 1.4.2 works only with Windows Mobile 2003. At least now it supports notifications about the connection status. If you are still on PocketPC2002, you will have to stick with the version 1.2, which is still available.

This is a great application. I've put a lot of time into custom themes for my ppc and this accecpts them Plus I love the ability to add custom buttons to the bar. Very useful, a must have.
