µBook - v0.8o Categorie: Office
Screen Shot
A few hundred kilobytes in size, µBook is an excellent program for reading e-books in HTML, RTF and TXT format, and also in PDB and PRC format, as long as they're not protected. It handles images perfectly, whatever the format(JPEG, GIF, BMP).
I find virtually no defect or shortcoming, bearing in mind the small size. It can look for books inside a ZIP archive, everything is customizable (skins, fonts), it has a search function, etc...
Try it right away if you like reading on your Pocket PC. It keeps menu bars to a minimum, thereby increasing the convenience still more.

Note : the version 0.9a is NOT a freeware anymore.

Sorry all... My ARM version is corrupted. I have good other versions though. I'll try to get or fix the ARM zip file.

This is a beautiful program - an essential download if you read txt files on your PPC. Basically it makes them as easy to read as books (and if you've ever used Pocket Word to read a long txt file, you're in for a great surprise) - with plenty of extra utilities like bookmarks, different fonts and skins, and remembering where you last read! So you can carry a library around on your SD card - e.g. thousands of free books from http://www.gutenberg.org/wiki/Main_Page. Better looking than Adobe Reader! In my opinion, this is one of the very best pieces of software (including commerical) for PPC. 10/10.

PLEASE!
I have "worked" with the developer in the past on earlier versions of this program. It is WELL worth the liscence fee for those who enjoy e-books. It will read many file formats and do so even if they are zipped on your PPC! (That saves space!)
visit the site and do the right thing.

This is the ebook reader I have been looking for. The freeware version here is in some ways better for me than the full version (which I happily purchased yesterday, BTW). It allows button remapping, opens many formats, even while still in a zip archive, there are plenty of quality skins and the options and settings are comprehensive to say the least. The help file is helpful, and there is a forum which seems to get some recent traffic.

Best of all it allowed me to get rid of the three other readers on my unit.
