You can play shoutcast playlist with this player!!!
All stations play on my bluetooth or wifi connection.

I played a file on WMP and then I played the same file on GSPlayer. The difference in sound quality was incredible. I don't know if it is because WMP is exceptionally horrible or GSPlayer is exceptionally great, but in any case GSPlayer is a vast improvement over WMP. It's wide range of features beat WMP in every way. AND IT'S FREE!!! You'd be a fool to not download this right now.
Really good, fine sound, especially when enable Surround and a little of Bass Boost. Thought this is a winner before tried Mort Player.
we love shoutcast support! This player ROCKS!
GSPlayer sounds very good, but the buttons were too small to use in a car. Also, it requires that you double-tap a song on the playlist to play it, which can be annoying.
Mortplayer solves all of these problems and more, and I believe that it uses the same playback routines as GSPlayer, so it sounds just as good if not better.
I'm still confuse in choosing between GSPlayer and MortPlayer which are, without any doubt, the best freeware MP3 players. I love the sound quality of GSPlayer while like the alarm, direct access to equalizer, restore volume level on program exit of MortPlayer. Until now, both of them are on my XDAII and I don't know which one to delete.
On my HP IPAQ 5550 (Mobile Win 2003) I can not add all files to playlist (cca 512MB of files) with GSPlayer - I mailed the author of the software, but got no reply. MortPlayer however works like a charm.
Playing MIDI file is now supported via MIDI Plug-in available at author website!
Very good sounding player, but I also think MortPlayer is better rounded overall as far as software goes. GSPlayer also takes an eon and a half to load, and the playlist management is not stellar. This sounds negative, but these are all small things. GSPlayer is a wonderful music player!

Very good player . . . the ability to program the "email, home, calendar, etc." buttons makes using it very easy, esp. in the car. Really great sound and loads a lot faster than WMP.
Never thought such a good sound was possible on my XDA II.
With good headphones (I use Sennheiser earbuds) the soundquality is absolutely comparable with my home soundsystem.
Thanks to to the developer. I Highly recommend this to all regular listeners of music on a PDA.

There is a music player called 'Lyrics Magic' which is so similar to GSPlayer that I think that it is an enhance version of GSPlayer:
http://www.mycnknow.com/
However, you cannot beleive that Lyrics Magic is COMMERCIAL and cost $12.95!!!
no doubt it is a jolly good player rich bass and all. GS Player seems to be able to play some and not all of my music files. can anyone help: am having difficulties playing files i copied off WMP 10 onto and SD card. emailed author and no success. Am using Qtek S100.
no doubt again. The player is VERY good. The sound also 2 thumbs up! -- deballz.com --

my old windows CE 3.0 on HP Jornada540 won't work with v2.24. The v2.24 doesn't support this device. Does anyone have the earlier version of GSPlayer? Thank you very much.
Very good player, im using it, but cant install the midi plugin... i copy it to the ppc and the gsplayer didnt detectet the midi plugin. can anybody help me with installing midi plugin? maybie send me an install setap on mate.sk@gmail.com
strange, i see this player uses GSfile to grab it's files. but the problem is, that sometimes (really random) the file open dialog just shows some giberisch characters, and only a cancel button (also filled with wierd stuff) is there some way to solve this problem, because the author isn't responding to my e-mails :/ if someone knows, please mail me @ pjxdadark@hotmail.com thx!
well, i can make playlists anyway, by using another musicplayer's m3u generator. but still, this is the one and only bad thing i have to say about this player, Very good! especialy the sleep function :D
I fixed it for me...change to the Stainless skin. However, you'll have to type the absolute path to the .gps file in the box since the garbled display will keep you from browsing to it. In my case I have GSPlayer installed in my iPAQ File Store so my path to the skin looked like:
\iPAQ File Store\GSPlayer\skin_stainless\stainless.gps
Did that and it fixed the garbled display we've seen in all places I've seen so far.
WHOA THERE BIG FELLA! ;-)
Looks like the skin change DIDN'T work for me...the garbled characters just took a lot longer to appear. However, I dug through a few old backup tapes and found v2.22 and I've been using it actively now for 6 hours without coming across the garbled dialog characters. Nor can I find a functional difference between 2.22 and 2.24 (at least on WM2003 Phojne Edition). If you want v2.22 to try just search Google for "gsp222ppc3e.zip". If you have trouble I could be convinced to post it somewhere.
FYI - v2.22 with the Winamp Modern skin from http://www.gsplayer-skins.tk/ ...wow, what more do you need in music player. I'd also add, for iPAQ use I have my music ripped to 64kbps CBR OGG files. I get 847 songs in about 1.4GB of storage. Given the less than stellar audio hardware in my h6315 (and most PDAs) and the fact that I don't use $200 buds the 64kbps OGG files sound really good, especially when given a bit of bass boost in GSPlayer. Give it a try. Lots of music in a little space.
Works fine on my IPAQ 2490.

ipaq h4155, WM2003, 4GB SD card, Internal 802.11b
Simply a must. The newest version works wonderfully for me (v2.25). This player is the ONLY player I use for my music. It has a great equalizer (although touchy), mp3 and ogg support, allows keylocking so I can it on the go, as well as shoutcast support. I love the screen off and lock feature which extends battery life considerably. I don't use other skins, but I'm told that it supports many Winamp skins.
A long time ago, I used to get those garbled buttons, but since the hard reset, they've never returned.

Does anyone know how to make the EQ function properly?
I'm using a Treo 700wx running Windows Mobile 5.0, and GSPlayer v2.25. Every other function works as indicated except the equalizer. I turn on the EQ by selecting the checkbox, move an EQ slider and click OK. I hear no difference. When I return to the EQ, the sliders are all centered again. It's as if the equalizer is not activated.
Any ideas how to activate it other than with the EQ checkbox? (I fear the EQ may not work at all with WM5.0, but it's worth asking here.)

Also, I noticed that the EQ is only supposed to work with MP3 encodings, so I thought I'd better mention that I'm only using MP3 files.
Nevermind. It's working now. For several months I still used GSPlayer without a working EQ because everything else about it was so great. But with v2.25-beta the EQ is working just fine.
I have been using this player for years now. I don't have the latest version and don't need it because the one I have does everything I want. I frequently travel between Dallas and Houston (4-hour trip one way) and use GSPlayer in the car both ways. It has features that are _actually_useful_ such as the ability to turn the backlight off at the push of a button which is nice for night driving. It has never failed me and I frankly don't care what it looks like. Function over frills for me! Also, for the person back in 2006 who was having gibberish when opening files, there is a bug in that version of gsgetfile.dll, I have seen it myself many times. Just locate an updated (or older) version of gsgetfile.dll and the problem will go away.

What's new in v2.26?
The web site doesn't even mention v2.26!!
Version 2.26 is for WM 5/6 only
Hi all, I am new here.
I just downloaded the 2.26 file and when I click on Setup I get a "Error in Windows CE Setup Files: Application Manager cannot install this application on your mobile device due to an error in the setup file. Reinstall and try again.
I have an iPAQ 2795 with WMv5. I have downloaded the file twice and get the same results. Ideas?
I downloaded the 2.25 version and it loaded and installed fine. Nice freeware.
I have the same problem as doncline with the 2.26 version have an Ipaq RW6815 but v2.25 works
v2.26 works fine on my IPAQ 2490 running WM5.
Sounds like <b>doncline</b> and <b>spawnbadboy</b> tried to install via ActiveSync. I installed directly onj the PPC from the CAB file.
Well the setup readme.txt for 2.26 says:
2. How to install
- Extract the setup files to your PC
- Execute setup.exe on your PC to install GSPlayer on your Pocket PC.
That is why I tried from the PC. I tried your suggestion. I placed all the unzipped files into a temp folder on my iPAQ and selected setup. It said setup is not a valid Pocket PC application.
Next I just clicked on the .cab file and it install just fine. I wish the instructions had said that.
Thanks patlucas

Ill try activesync with the new one if that doesnt work then Ill try cab install
yeap seems like he fixed the problem with installing it through activesync in 2.28
It works perfectly now :)
Tried to load v2.28 into WM6. I unzipped to get the .cab, .txt. and setup files. When I attempted to install each one of them, my PPC chirped and the screen remained unchanged. No error message and no installation. Any suggestions?
Worked as documented in the ReadMe.txt as spawnbadboy says !

Greatest music player for iPAQ or whatever.
Having a major problem in installing v2.28 smarphone edition alpha.
Having downloaded the file(zip format) I unzipped only to find another zip file, but this time in winrar format. extracted this to pc, but there were a bunch of files, no single .cab file. when copied all to the phone using active sync and clicking on them I get the message..there is no application, open the file in the application and run??.
Is there some other file missing..the website said that this version was for Windows mobile 6..the other version (i.e. 5) did install but not compatible. Any ideas whats gone wrong here...thanks

Has anyone got any of the plugins to work with version 2.25? I can't seem to get the player to recognise them.
Will this player work with Windows Mobile 2003 second edition? Can't find the info.
Wow fantastic, at first i thought it's gonna be another junk program but turns out like magic!!!
@Bushmaster
It should. I have it working just fine on my WM 2003 device
Its a wonderful little app. I was having real problems getting BBC world service with GPRS but now with GSPlayer I can listen with the shoutcast link - All the Accuradio links I want are also at my finger tips. Thank you so much - and free too! WOW. Any who does not gab a piece of this action is really missing out!

iPAQ hx2795b, 4gb SD card, internal 802.11b
GSPlayer now has plugins to allow wma, aac, and mp4 playback. This program just got so much better!
Assuming your MIDI plugin is in GSPlayer's main program folder, here's how to get GSPlayer to recognize it:
First of all, make sure that you have downloaded the instrument files (gm.zip), which are available at the author's website on the same page as the plugin file. Unzip the instrument files to a subfolder named "gm" within the main program folder.
In GSPlayer, bring up
Menu/Tool/Options.
Then go to the Plug-ins tab, select "GreenSoftware MIDI plug-in" and tap the "Configure" button. You'll only need to do this once. It works like a charm on my Axim x51v (WM5).
2autor: please, correct problem - player hanging up after switch off/on with window on foreground. with minimized window all things okay. Device - Glofiish x500 WM 6.1
