The choice of Microsoft on how to manage time while changing of time zone might not be satisfying to you (certainly in fact...). Indeed, if while traveling you decide to switch your clock to the new time zone, all your appointments will be shifted to reflect the new time zone (your pocket pc is still asking you if you really want to do that).
Now, imagine that you change the current time and you need to creat an appointment in a different time zone.
Time zone is a useful program that will surely ease the process: you create your appointment as you usually do and then you can modify the location by tap & hold that will show you the option: Change Time to City in the included database. The time will then be modified to match the time in the location you are. When you will go at this other place, the accurate time will be displayed. Everything is done transparently thanks to a tag added in the location of the appointment so that the software can find its way and keep track of the initial input: Brilliant! Of course, it is forbidden to modify this tag.
In fact, it is pretty difficult to explain but those of you who already experienced this problem will see the interest of this program...
The software is only composed of a .DLL file that will create a new option in the calendar application, no need for you to look after a software
NB : This new version brings support for WM5. For older devices (PPC2002 or WM2003*), you'll need to download previous version (1.2.3) HERE

Eventually I found a freeshare like this to solve my problem of re-arranging meeting whenever i am on business trips. Thanks very very much!

Great software! But unfortunately, it doesn't work in my HTC TyTN with WM 5.0 (and it would be excellent to have it loaded!)
|
@mpa : Now, the new version works with WM5 ! Enjoy ! ;)

I am unable to install on a HTC TyTN II (Wm 6). Attempt to install fails with a message "Installation unsuccessful"! any body knows any solution?
|
To smjoshi.
Solution you need is quite simple. You should carefully read installation section of Readme for the program. Good luck!

alexaleks - thanks. I did read the readme file. I noticed that it says "Before installing you should provide that the following DLL files are copied into \Windows directory of your PDA: MFC90U.dll and msvcr90.dll. These are standard redistributable Microsoft library files.". I dont know where to find these two .dll files. I did try to seach on microsoft's site (windows mobile site). Haven't managed to locate them. TimeZone looks like a wonderfully useful tool if only I can figure out where to find these files. thanks

I have te same problem. "Installation unsuccessful". I already copied the mentioned dll´s into \windows, but the result is the same.
Has anybody an idea if different versions are existing or if TimeZone is not running under WM6?
