Font On Storage - v1.02 Categorie: System Tools
Screen Shot
Watch out, here is a very simple program that is filling one of the gaps of the OS but sadly, there is no user manual and nothing on the author's website which is entirely in Japanese…

So, fasten your seat belts!

You must know that it is possible to install extra fonts in addition to the ones included originally. You just need to copy them to either the directory /Windows/Fonts/ or /Windows/. However, a font file is big and you are thus losing some precious memory.

Fonts On Storage is a little software that will allow you to put those TTF files on your storage cards. You just need to launch it before the software that will need the font. The Pocket PC will then detect where it is located.

The reviewer should have added that you need to execute the EXE from the folder containing your fonts. For example: "\SD Card\Fonts\FontOnStorage.Exe". I have been told you can launch it anywhere if you keep your fonts in \Fonts (root directory), however, this didn't work for me. The program had to be with the fonts.

Re MikeInDallas' commeny.
No you don't need to run it from the font directory, it just needs to know where that is, so
fontonstorage.exe "\SD Card\Fonts" (or whichever dir) will work.

A link with this path in the Windows Startup folder will then execute it automatically so all fonts are avai;able to all programs.

Thanks to djpatto -- I just saw your comment. I'll have to check that out. I see the author has updated his FileDialogChanger to work with WM50 too! Whoo-hoo! (Ps: Now MikeInHouston)

You can run the page via the google translation tool or use the following link (i wonder if it will be displayed on this post): http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.geocities.co.jp%2FSiliconValley-Cupertino%2F2039%2F&langpair=zh-CN%7Cen&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&prev=%2Flanguage_tools

Notice that the author's web site ends with ".jp" That means it's in JAPAN. So the translation link should be:
http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.geocities.co.jp%2FSiliconValley-Cupertino%2F2039%2F&langpair=ja%7Cen&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&prev=%2Flanguage_tools
to translate from Japanese to English. The chinese to english translation just gives gobbledy gook.

You can't use HTML in comments, but BBcode is allowed.
Just put (removing spaces) : [ url=http://your link here ]description[ /url ]

As mentioned by djpatto that .."it just needs to know where that is, so
fontonstorage.exe "\SD Card\Fonts" (or whichever dir) will work. A link with this path in the Windows Startup folder will then execute it automatically so all fonts are avai;able to all programs."

I really don't know how to make such a link. I'm a newbie to PPC. Anyone can elaborate or tell me in details how to make such a link.
Thank you very much for any help.
