Very nice launcher! I still like and use the original tdlaunch too. It seems both these great little plugins can co-exist quite nicley on the today screen. The developers of both these programs deserve praise from the PPC community.

Great software, it has been my favourite launcher for my i-mate II and now JAM. It allows me to see all my programs on small space of the Today screen after I adjusted the margines and removed the outlines.

This is a great utility for your today screen. It's highly configurable - you can make it look just like you want to. I really couldn't do without it.

This is brilliant! I just installed it on my XDA IIi (WM 2003se) and despite the "This software was designed for an earlier version.." warning it seems to work fine, and seems to have little or no impact on system speed. Well done!

cLaunch is great, but be warned that the background only works properly if you are running at 96dpi (i.e. if you are running a 240x320 device, or a VGA device in "proper" VGA with ozVGA or SE_VGA). If you are running a VGA device out of the box at 192dpi, then the bit of the Today image behind the icons will be wrong.

Finally!! Now I dont have to tap START MENU/PROGRAMS every time to get to my programs and games!! Real nice work!!

I downloaded this program a long time ago it seems, and I have never seen a need for any changes, except maybe to be able to change the icon size without distorting the image of the icon itself... but that would be a major feat probably. I love this program, it never leaves my today screen, and the 8 folders provided is all you really need because you have unlimited scroll on each one. I love it and will never EVER uninstall it!

Using it on my typhoon/yakumo 6500 I liked cLaunch very much.
Unfortunately and odd it killed the "settings/backlight"-programm.
It took me several hard resets and installing programs dozens of times to find cLaunch being the villain.
pity. i miss it.

I forgot to mention: the hard reset was the only way to stop and deinstall it.

I don't know what kind of 'settings/backlight' program you have, but it never interfered with my e355 Toshiba. Then again I never tried to uninstall it. You should have made yourself a backup file before you installed it though. Just an fyi so you don't have to do that again - I know, I've made that mistake too!

Interesting to read the posting from Samurex, i also had problems:
Immediately after installing this program on my O2 Xda II Mini, i encountered problems with my battery that seemed to drain within a few hours, and spontaneous hanging in 'off' mode (which means you can't even receive a phone call).
I really liked the program, but i had to remove it to be able to work normal. After removing it all problems solved.

Very Usefull software but only one problem on win2003 SE VGA machine.
It can not display the background VGA theme correctly.

This plugin is a must have for any today screen. It's extremely configurable. I can be a small strip of icons or it can cover your today screen with icons, it totally up to you. I noticed no change in speed or free memory space when running this program.

This is the best by far shortcut manager I ever use. Options and settings are beyond any expectation. Every freeware maker have my respect but Nakashima and his companions here make a great job. You can change icon size, space between them, change icon (bmp), sequence, name, skin of backround, skin of buttons!, 7 language to choose, up to 8 folder customizable, help and many more. This is not just a complete plug-in, but pushed to the limit. The only conflict I notice is a small one with Leng interface of Paragon. My machine HP hx2750 WM2003SE. Like mate.sk say before please, give it a try.

I have to agree with all the other positive respones. I use a HTC Cingular 8125 and this plugin just makes navigating through your PPC a breeze. Allows you to make shorcuts and resize them and categorize them with tabs. It's very stable too!

Alas, does not work properly under Win Mobile 6: upon reboot, clauncher will not appear unless you open Settings>Today and click on claunch ... what a pity! I'm using WkTask instead ....

I'm using cLaunch on two devices - one on WM6 and the other on WM5.
Runs flawlessly on both with a lnk file for it in \Windows\Startup
Rather than Settings>Today>cLaunch on reboot, I just use RefreshToday.exe as the last lnk in \Windows\Startup

Ah, thank you, ianl! The utility RefreshToday.exe isn't found on my Mobile 6 device, but a usable version can be downloaded from shubaroo.com. Placed in the \Windows\Startup directory, this did indeed start cLaunch at boot time. Much appreciated!

v. 12.04 does not work properly with my LOOX N560. Icons are clipped to its 1/4 of size, also options can not be changed because the screens are clipped and only partialy visible. I would say that it's a problem with 480x640 resolution, however I've seen in the changelog a comment stating that this resolution has been confirmed to be working propely....

Hi All! Just installed cLaunch 12.04 on my Verizon xv6800 on Windows Mobile 6 and it installed fine and comes up fine but when I go to add an item there is no keyboard icon at the bottom so I can't enter any text in the field. Anybody know a fix or work-around? Thanks in advance!!! John

Answered my own question...DUH! It worked fine when I slid the keyboard out. I just never use it as I have gotten so used to the on-screen keyboard. Too funny!!!! Working great now! John

v.12.04 does not work properly with my IPAQ 210. Problem sounds similar to quosoo's post on 01-27-2008. Everything is REAL TINY, and three-fourths of the Settings and Options menus are invisible. There is no way to change the scale factor to fix this. Looks like I'll be uninstalling this program.

I would love to be able to use cLaunch, but on my Axim x51v I can't get around the VGA display issue mentioned by others. The configuration menus are partly obscured and I can't use them, so I tried in vain to edit cLaunch.dat. The values there are not labeled, however, so I was flying blind.
I tried e-mailing the author, but never got a response, and the Brighthand forum he refers to won't allow me access, even though I'm registered.
Ideas, anyone?

I too would have loved to use cLaunch, but am facing the same display problems mentioned by others here. The icons are cut to 1/4 and the setting/options are not displayed properly. Sadly, had to uninstall it. Probably does not support 480x640 properly even though the website says it does.

I don't have a VGA device, so I cannot vouch for the accuracy of this in relation to VGA:
"Know issue :
If the file don't have 16x16 icon, it show only 1/4 of the icon if icon size is below 24."
However, the quote above is directly from the website.
I'm using cLaunch on 3 different QVGA devices. The quote above is accurate for these devices.
To find out if the icons in the program are 16x16 or not, I use ResHack. This program can be used to replace the icon in the program if you wish to.

I installed this on my tilt, it worked fine but when I exited and tried to find it the "gear"icon was gone. Ut is still listed as available, I have re-installed it several times to no avail. Is there any help??

Further to my comment above on VGA screens, I'm now using an X1i XPeria with WVGA.
cLaunch 1.204 does NOT behave with this resolution (the sub-menus are truncated and unusable), but:
cLaunch 1.203 works perfectly and does not have the screen refresh problem on soft reset

I wanted to thank iani for sharing the info about cLaunch 12.03. I had given up on the app nearly a year ago after trying to use 12.04 on my Axim x51v, as it didn't display correctly on my VGA device. The author never responded to my e-mails, either.
Oddly enough, 12.03 works flawlessly, even though it's an earlier version, and it's the best launcher I've used so far -- extremely flexible, full of options, and easy to set up!

I installed cLauncher on my ATT Tilt with WM 6.1. I've used this very nice launcher for about two months now. It replaced Easy and Today launchers on my device. The tabs, ability to rename them, ability to change fonts and icon spacing, etc., make this an ideal launcher for my uses. There is just one small issue on my device. If I go directly to the settings/options menu using the settings icon (yellow gear like icon on the upper left of the tabbed screen), my sip doesn't display so I can't modify test such as tab names. The sip appears just fine if I use the WM settings/Today button and change the options from there. Since there is a workaround, this is a trivial problem. Once again, this is a great app! Thanks for your good work.
