VNC (Virtual Network Computing is a compilation of client/server software for remote network computing with TCP/IP. The server and the client work on many platforms (PC, Max, Unix) but the client (which allows the server connection) also works on a PocketPC with this specific version (protocol version 3.3). It is very easy to install this software since the program can be copied as an executable on your PocketPC and can be launched with the file explorer. Once started, find the base IP address; in the second window, enter the connection password so that the remote PC can be visible on your screen.
This utility, specially created for PocketPC (2000, 2002, 2003)is based on the initial version for Windows CE 2.x and works perfectly well; it even has the same connection configuration buttons as the Desktop PC.
Easy to work on a wireless network for PocketPC, it is still not as efficient as the Microsoft HyperTerminal which can optimize the display. Nevertheless, the solution (Client + Server) is free, easily configurable and very functional.
The Client menus for PocketPC allows for keyboard shortcuts such as Ctrl-Alt-Del for example, making it easy to use.
Perfect as a tool for PocketPC Network administrators.

I love this program. I use VNC all the time due to work computer restrictions. Although the comparative tiny screen of the PPC may inhibit some speed of using the VNC viewer, it is by no means any less powerful. This is a great utility for any remote admin as well if he/ she is on the go a lot. Lots of screen changes can sometimes take a while to render on the PPC, but overall, a great program to have.
