HandWallet Basic - v4.12 Categorie: Misc Tools
Screen Shot
For Palm owners, HandWallet is an old acquaintance among financial management programs. In its basic freeware version, limited to 3 accounts, it's an excellent tool for personal account management. If you ignore Microsoft's Money, not distributed in all languages, it's even the only freeware program of this quality that I'm aware of.

It naturally lets you perform all the basic functions you can't do without: handling receipts and expenses for a variety of accounts (checking account, credit cards ...), preparation of budgets, reports, etc.

The program is very powerful, almost too much so for simple personal financial management. This detracts a bit from its ease of use, since the menus are very complete and the look and feel continues to be very Palm-oriented, resulting in components like buttons being quite small. Although it takes a bit of getting used it can be done, and the large buttons at the top of the screen let you move quickly to the major screens. Files, of course, are in PDB format and unfortunately are kept in the installation folder.

If you haven't yet purchased commercial software for managing your budget, it is strongly recommended that you give HandWallet a try since it's likely that it will be enough for your purposes if the accounts you follow closely are few in number. Unfortunately, as is often the case when a Pro version exists, certain functions are disabled: that is the case with Import/Export, which is rather frustrating.
